Sketch Notes: There's been a heck of a lot of WILDLY varied mediums of art making going on in my life in the last couple of months. There's been the more traditional (for me, anyway!) ink on paper, landscape type scenes. Like the above.
A small scene recorded of a family, old and new, coming together on a weekend for a beer and a yarn and a bit of time spent in good company.
And an experiment for a commission request - below. Alcohol ink on glass. Still a work in progress, still a process to iron out kinks. But fun. Luminescent. And one of the most stunningly beautiful birds going through my back yard - the Red-tail Cockatoo.
And then there was the hugely OUT of my comfort zone sketch for a logo for a local business.
Up-coming in my creation world is something that I was amazed I was so excited about - Hard Pressed, the group public art project created, curated and co-ordinated by Printmaking Superwoman Liz Robinson. (And Holy Snapping Duck-Shit! The energy that woman brings to a project is phenomenal!) This project features a 2-tonne Roller (like, think giant machine for rolling roads and stuff!) and some pretty darn sizeable wood-cuts by a number of local and interstate artists. Some of the contributors are old hands at printmaking, and some, like me, are complete novices who have heard 'wood-cut' muttered in the dark underbelly of the printmaking section of the art world, but never actually seen or done it live.
Beyond that, there's still the Adult Colouring Book in my world, and hopefully it will be out in the wider-world in a bigger way in the lead up to Christmas. . . . (Cause it's freaking me out how NOT far away that actually is!!) (If you'd like to know what's coming up in the F&G world for Christmas . . . . and there's some pretty spekky things going on . . . . sign up to the eNewsletter. The Button for that is at the bottom of Every Single Page on my website and I would seriously love to share what I'm up to with you that way.
